She’s staring at me.
When my daughter doesn’t feel good, she comes and sit across from me at the kitchen table. Doesn’t say a word. Just stares at me. I try to not look directly at her. If I do, she will just sigh, very loudly. This will prompt me to ask her what is wrong.
No, I’m fine. Really.
Shrug. “Oh..nothing.”
I will ask her if there is anything I can do for her. Does she need to see a doctor? Does she want me to get her a drink, or a snack? Would she like to me to square dance for her amusement? Do I have a piece of broccoli stuck in my teeth?
She will finally get up and walk away, only to reemerge a while later. This is when I start to get really annoyed. What does she want from me? Is she doing it just to piss me off, or does she secretly want to crawl into my lap like she was little? It’s obvious she desires something when she bores a hole through me, but what? For the love of asparagus, what is it child?
Does anyone have a 6 pack?
she just wants to be close to you.
She still loves me..aww.
Been there. Hang in there.
Thanks..she stresses me out.
I hate that “bet you can’t guess what’s wrong with me… nyah-nyah-nyah-nyah-NYAH-nyah!” And my son is only 11 — it’s going to be rough when he gets to be 13! [shudder] He’s doing this Jeckyl-and-Hyde stuff … one minute he’s still “my little guy” and the next minute he’s giving us a preview of the moody teens. Oy vey.
Oy vey indeed! That’s how it starts..good thing is, but 16 they start to get somewhat sweet again..somewhat..nyah nyah nyah poo poo..
16 huh? [shudder] Well, bring out the Captain. Morgan, that is.
Stopped drinking liquor a few years ago..Bud light and occasionally some weed. lol
I”m technically not supposed to drink … three meds say “don’t drink while taking this medication”. [sigh.] But occasionally I give in.
Yeah screw it, me too! Not often though.
Amen!
All I wanted this past week was to be held. By my mom, which I mispelled and turned out to be mummy, which lead to a whole story, but that’s something else. Anyways. Hugs!
Thank you..I read the mummy thing..:)
Sick minds have the best stories.
So true.
Hopefully your daughter is feeling better and as are you. HUGS!!
Thank you..{hugs}
You’re most welcome!
I don’t have a six pack but I’ve got a lovely bottle of wine
One day at a time…..
Wine will do in a pinch..You are right..
Juz a cuddle from her mommy me thinks
xxx
I did end up giving her a hug, but she pulled away after 10 seconds..lol me thinks
I’m with the others. She doesn’t know what she wants either – don’t try and fix her, just let her know you love her
Your right Panda..I always try and fix everything. Next time I will just tell her I love her.
Maybe stash a board game or a deck of cards somewhere nearby and next time pull it out. Maybe the activity will open her up.
That is actually a good idea. We used to color together, so maybe I will pull out the box of crayons.
Ohh those are the times when we want but don’t want.”Mom I want you around but please get off my back”
Exactly..I always forget how hard it was to be a teenager.
