A song that you love, but rarely listen to.
A song that you love, but rarely listen to.

I used to burn songs onto CD’s years ago, and then listen to them in the car. I had a favorite one that I would play constantly, and on my way to see my therapist yesterday, I popped it into the CD player.

The ravages of time and being unprotected made it skip and jump more than a kid doing double-dutch.

Check it out, it looks like he’s doing the worm.

Or maybe that’s the Cabbage Patch?

My daughter would ask to hear this song while we were out and about. She would say, “I wanna hear “Crazy on you.” (It sounded so cute coming from her little pipsqueak voice.)

I would happily oblige her, even though she was too young and innocent to know what the song was really about. I was in no way interested in explaining it to her, either.

It probably sounded silly to her, look at me mommy, I’m crazy!

I bet you anything she would understand it now, and that frightens the hell out of me.

I love Heart, although I rarely listen to them these days. In fact, this challenge has helped me to recover many a lost song.

Crazy on you by Heart

If we still have time, we might still get by
Every time I think about it I want to cry
With bombs and the devil, little kids keep coming
No way to breathe easy, no time to be young

But I tell myself that I was doing alright
There’s nothing left to do tonight

But go crazy on you, crazy on you
Let me go crazy, crazy on you

My love is the evening breeze touching your skin
The gentle sweet singing of leaves in the wind
The whisper that calls after you in the night
And kisses your ear in the early light

And you don’t need to wonder, you’re doing fine
My love, the pleasure’s mine

Let me go crazy on you, crazy on you
Let me go crazy, crazy on you

Wild man’s world is crying in pain
What you gonna do when everybody’s insane?
So afraid of one who’s so afraid of you
What you gonna do oh?

Crazy on you, crazy on you
Let me go crazy, crazy on you

I was a willow last night in my dream
I bent down over a clear running stream
I sang you the song that I heard up above
And you kept me alive with your sweet flowing love

Crazy, yeah, crazy on you
Let me go crazy, crazy on you

Crazy on you, crazy on you
Let me go crazy, crazy on you, yeah

Crazy on you, crazy on you
Let me go crazy, crazy on you, oh
