I’m going to be posting a favorite song of mine every day for the rest of the week, because I’m not up to writing at the moment, yet I also want to keep my blog active.

From the nineties backward, starting with this one hit wonder from Blind Melon. “No Rain” was released in 1992, the year that I graduated from high school. I instantly liked it because it matched my depressive angst.

It’s a favorite tune from that time of my life, (meaning that I won’t ever skip over it and I have the lyrics down perfect.)

Blind Melon-No Rain   1992

All I can say is that my life is pretty plain
I like watchin’ the puddles gather rain
And all I can do is just pour some tea for two
And speak my point of view but it’s not sane
It’s not sane
I just want someone to say to me, oh
I’ll always be there when you wake, yeah
You know I’d like to keep my cheeks dry today
So stay with me and I’ll have it made
And I don’t understand why I sleep all day
And I start to complain that there’s no rain
And all I can do is read a book to stay awake
And it rips my life away but it’s a great escape
Escape, escape, escape
All I can say is that my life is pretty plain
You don’t like my point of view, you think that I’m insane
It’s not sane, it’s not sane
I just want someone to say to me, oh
I’ll always be there when you wake, yeah
You know I’d like to keep my cheeks dry today
So stay with me and I’ll have it made, I’ll have it made, I’ll have it made
Oh, no, no, you know, I really wanna, really gonna have it made
You know, I’ll have it made
